Your Chinese Name

Mimi explained to me that the way you pronounce your name in Chinese is Oy-wah which means "lovable". How perfect is that? You are most definitely a lovable baby girl.

Blowing Raspberries

You are the cutest copy cat ever! We would blow raspberries (spit bubbles) at you to make you laugh and in no time you were mimicking us. Funniest thing, Paw Paw went to give you a kiss and you blew raspberries and spit all over his glasses!!

Baby magazines say that most babies start this at 5 months, but you began this at 3 1/2 months. Blowing raspberries is a skill that helps you learn how to use your mouth, tongue, and lips together to eventually form words and begin talking. I can't wait to hear your first word..."momma"? (fingers crossed)

Shots

Mommy couldn't bear it when you got your first shots. I know that they are necessary for you to stay healthy, but it hurts me to see you in pain. I would much rather take the shots for you. When the nurse gave you the shots, Mommy looked away and made a painful facial expression. Daddy jokingly said that Mommy would have to stay in the waiting room from now on. You are defnitely a trooper. You probably cried for a couple of seconds and that was that. The tweety bandaid was put on and it was over before you knew it! The saying "This will hurt me more than it hurts you" couldn't have been further from the truth.

Bodacious Belcher

You are such an amazing baby! After we feed you, we sit you up and say "okay, do your thing!" and right on command - you burp. You're not like most babies who take a while. Thank you for being so perfect.
